Welcome back to our new school year.  It is going to be full of lots of opportunities for new learning and experiences.  Let’s begin our journey…

This term we are focusing on ‘Journeys and Migration’. 

In English, we are focusing on creating narrative poems and the idea of persuasive writing, which will include reading Windrush Child.  We will also be looking at migration through the poetry of Michael Rosen’s book ‘On the Move: Poems about migration’.

During our Maths lessons we will be focusing on number and place value, mental methods and the four operations. 

We will be working hard on our times tables, please remember to use TTRS to help us with our practise.

In Science, our unit of work will be all about ‘Earth and Space’.  We will be learning about Galileo, investigating how the Earth moves and researching planets.

As part of our RE lessons, we will be exploring Hinduism.

In Art, we will be learning all about the drawing techniques and retro futuristic artwork.

We are continuing to encourage and promote our love of reading, giving children opportunities to read throughout the day as well as a whole class reading for pleasure session to end each day.

PE days this term are Tuesday and Wednesday.  We will be working on swimming and netball.

Homework is on Tuesday and is to be returned on a Monday.
